Concept
This artwork expresses humanity in today's society.
Human beings are using the Internet to share their experiences and knowledge to develop civilization. By accumulating and analyzing human thought and behavior patterns, we are constructing a database and developing AI and predictive power. Our sustenance is the behavioral data obtained from human life. We assume that the Internet is now positioned as a more familiar and reliable alternative to God. The definition of "religious gods" has a history of being convenient for mankind, and has flourished as a stronghold, moral sharing, hope, and living scripture. However, I believe that the Internet, with its convenience and availability, is a new form of deification that is manifesting itself in a way that is more convenient for modern humanity.
Expression
The tree is depicted with branches and roots growing and spreading. The ripples leading to the tips of the roots represent humanity, and the roots absorb experiences, thoughts, knowledge and actions from humanity. The ripples are expressed with shells and metal foil. The shells are made of organic and inorganic compounds. And the metals that support the development of civilization. The seashells and metal foil used in the paintings overlay meanings of the close relationship between humanity and machines in an evolving civilization. The spreading branches represent the Internet world that grows and feeds on the accumulated data of human activity. The stagnant branches and withering patterns in the space represent the way in which the branches are eliminated from the flow of growth and decay, and the way in which they are returned to nutrients as the foundation of development. The large ripples spreading out from the trunk depict such growth of the world's creation (God's creation).
Through the Work
The flow from the 2021 installation "The Gradation of Perception " continues.
The works of 2021 expanded the sensory experience of the pregnant colors until they reached cognition, creating a piece that extended into space. These colors materialized the world of colors perceived by the artist through their sensibilities, and visitors were invited to digest and understand these colors from key points within the space.
This act is typically the sharing of senses linked to the five senses, but in this "Natural Environmental of Space," it takes the form of a composition where visitors, through paper plants with no color but form, scatter the colors of their own sensibilities throughout the space, completing it. This is a reverse composition from what we have done before, sharing the colors of sensibility from the process of the collective growth of the space created by many people, and it was a new initiative for Kaleidoscope.
I feel that the sensibilities of many people accumulated in the plain space, creating a spectacular space that far exceeds our imagination.
Moreover, this time, the exhibition in the spacious area of 20m x 14m became elaborate.
Many people, including the schools in Zushi City, the executive committee, local businesses, welfare facilities, and volunteers, were involved, and the work was able to materialize.
Thank you for your gratitude and inspiration.
