Kaneko was deeply impressed by a story she heard from her father. She imagined the fantastic scenery of a castle floating in the sea of clouds that actually exists in Hyogo Prefecture, and strongly wished to visit there once. By depicting the beautiful landscape, she expressed her strong attachment to that place.

I expressed the miraculous natural phenomenon seen at the mountaintop with a mystical atmosphere and vivid, delicate colors that are produced by the overlapping of multiple meteorological conditions. This artwork, which spreads within the frame, represents the space incorporating that phenomenon.
